My Bio
Growing up in Albury, Bec was surrounded by animals from a young age, sparking a lifelong love and respect for all creatures. This natural connection inspired her to pursue a career where she could combine her compassion for animals with a desire to improve their wellbeing, both physically and emotionally.

Bec has been working as a veterinary nurse in the Albury/Wodonga region since 1999, gaining extensive experience in general practice and developing a strong interest in animal welfare, behaviour, and the human-animal bond.

Early in her nursing career, she began to notice how often behavioural issues were affecting not only the animals’ quality of life, but also the wellbeing of their caregivers. This led her to delve deeper into the world of animal behaviour and training.

Bec holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and has completed the Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour and Training with the Delta Institute, an accredited and science-based program focused on humane, force-free training methods. She is also a Certified Fear Free Professional, committed to reducing fear, anxiety, and stress in animals during handling, vet visits, and daily life.

In her role at Animal Progress, Bec works closely with both clients and their pets to address behavioural concerns and improve the relationships between people and their animals. She teaches collaborative care techniques, helping animals learn to participate willingly in their own care such as grooming, veterinary visits, and everyday handling. Bec develops and implements behaviour modification plans tailored to each individual animal, supporting clients throughout the process and helping them understand how to respond to and manage challenging behaviours under the guidance of Dr Sally Nixon. She also provides practical training to teach new behaviours, build confidence, and improve communication between animals and their people, always using positive reinforcement and science-based methods.

Bec has also spent many years leading Puppy Preschool classes, giving puppies and their caregivers a strong foundation in early learning, socialisation, and positive training. Known for her calm, compassionate approach, Bec is dedicated to helping animals feel safe, confident, and understood, while empowering pet caregivers to build trust-based, respectful relationships with their companions.
